Though for some managers this is hard, it is one of those things that must be done in some cases. This is especially needed when the conflict is already providing too much of a negative effect to the business in general or the team morale. In this conflict management technique, the manager should always carefully assess the situation first. He must be certain that the party that must be terminated actually deserves the punishment. This is a solution wherein utmost priority must be placed on accurate assessments and investigations of the issues at hand.
Conflict Management as a Formal Process
There is also a technique in conflict management which is referred to as formal process. This refers to the utilization of formal processes that are inherent within the company or organizational policies when the manager observes that there is an eruption of conflicts. In this kind of conflict management technique, the manager basically refers the actions to the procedures and policies of the company so it will be imperative that these policies have been addressed or otherwise communicated to the team members or employees before- hand. Doing this will enable the parties to be guided in relation to the options available within the established policies. In this conflict management technique, the manager should also inform the other members of the team wherever privacy is not a major concern so that transparency will be facilitated.
