How to Build Confidence and use it to Achieve Your Goals
This is a continuation of the process described in the previous articles. You learned how to build confidence by taking a specific goal setting approach.
In the previous articles, you learned about some techniques to prepare yourself with the proper mindset. You accept that learning how to build confidence is a worthwhile pursuit and is quite achievable. This is important in order to eliminate doubt. To put strong effort into any pursuit, you need to believe, without question, that it is possible.
You understand that learning how to build confidence is a process that will not happen overnight. This is an undertaking that involves equipping yourself with the right information and making a consistent effort in the form of accomplishing small goals.
How to Build Confidence
This particular path focuses on the proven technique of goal setting. Once you have equipped yourself with the right mentality and some good information to help you keep a positive mindset, you make a list of small goals. These goals are designed to teach you how to build confidence through repeated triumphs of ever-increasing magnitude. The individual goal is anything that pushed you just a little bit outside of your current comfort zone.
As you begin to address and accomplish these small goals, your victories begin to build your self-confidence and widen the boundaries of your comfort zone. Once you have begun this process, you can start to see that learning how to build confidence gets easier and easier as you go.
Biting Off More than You Can Chew
At this point, you want to focus on progress. Start to work on increasingly difficult goals. Do not be afraid to challenge yourself if you want to. Taking it easy was the focus when you were getting started. Nevertheless, as your successes grow and your confidence grows, you may feel comfortable enough to tackle greater challenges. Go for it! This process will continue until you stop or achieve ultimate self-confidence so settle in and get comfortable.
Once you have become familiar and comfortable with this particular brand of learning how to build confidence by capitalizing on small successes, I suggest that you incorporate your life’s goals into the same process.
Combine Self Confidence Building Goals with Life Goals
At this point in the game, you have probably noticed that your confidence has grown. Depending on how much effort you put into it, you may have experienced significant progress.
Now, you may want to incorporate another layer into your goal-setting program. Learning how to build confidence for the sake of learning how to build confidence is great and all but your major goal here should be a little more tangible. After all confidence is merely a tool in your arsenal of equipment to accomplish your life goals. Why not use this process and apply it to some of those life goals as we continue our progress of learning how to build confidence by accomplishing our other “confidence building” goals.
Applying the Process
To do this, you need to take a good look at your life goals, the same way that you approached your confidence building goals. I like to start at the top. What are some of your life’s goals? What steps will it take to get there? Each one of those steps in itself is a stepping-stone along your proverbial path.
Begin adding some of these small steps toward your life goals into your plan. Analyze these goals, approach and prepare for them in the same ways that you approach your confidence building steps. Apply all the positive mindset rules that you have learned. You will find that these new techniques will also help you to begin accomplishing these goals as well. These successes will really boost your confidence as you see yourself moving closer to where you want to be. Now, each of these small accomplishments will actually be bringing you closer to your ultimate goals in life while you learn how to build confidence simultaneously.
It’s Time to Get to Work
This is enough work to keep you busy for years if you continue to apply it consistently. However, try to think of this as a framework. This is a very basic principle. Remember that you will continue learning along the way and your approach will change as you include the new things that you learn.
